Swim Meet 101
- You must RSVP whether or not your child will attend the meets via the website on the Sunday before every meet.
- After you RSVP, then you can sign up for a volunteer shift. If your child is swimming, then at least one parent from each family must volunteer.
- For home meets be at our pool by 4:15pm and away meets by 4:30pm. At home meets our team warms up first and at away meets our team warms up after the home team. The meets officially start at 5:30pm. Meets usually last about 3 1/2 hours. There are 86 events for dual meets.
- 6 & under swim: Freestyle, Backstroke and Freestyle Relay.
- All other age groups swim: Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke, Individual Medley (fly, back, breast, free), Medley Relay (back, breast fly, free), and Freestyle Relay.
- Swimmers and volunteers need to check-in
- Please write the swimmer’s name and age on their right shoulder. This will make it easier for ready bench workers to identify the swimmers. Their events should be written on either forearm
- Bring lots of water/Gatorade (no soda) and HEALTHY snacks. Concessions will also be available at all meets.
- Bring something to entertain your swimmers (e.g. cards, hand-held games) when they are not competing (make sure their name is on EVERYTHING!)
- Bring extra goggles
- Bring Nesbit Lakes swim cap, extra caps
- Bring 2 beach towels, blankets (swimmers will need towel or blanket to sit on and one to keep dry)
- Sunscreen (apply before coming to meet)
- Warmups/heavy shirts for those cool evenings
- Chairs for parents, blankets
